what is the process to become one

@madibrice, where I'm at it took so long, I started in January! I had to wait for my recommendation letters from ppl, scan in so much paperwork, like background check local an federal. Voided chk, offical college transcript, ext. You have to complete a lot of forms, with no internet in my home, library has become very critical to this process! You have to do orientation and blood born pathogens testing (that was the easy part). I think it depends on where you are too, lots of paperwork!

how much school do u need

Just a bachelor's degree if you want to teach, but they have other things you can do non teaching if you don't have a degree, like being a teacher's assistant. Here bc I have a Behavioral Science degree and not a teaching degree in Math, Science ect there is a limit to what I can do bc of the credit hours I accumulated.

Oan, I have the opt of getting hired on as a teacher bc I have a long term license, so when I go, if I good at what I'm doing they can offer me the position if they don't already have someone in place!

you can get a teaching certificate with any degree, just get your certificate and be a permanent and not sub

I am about to go back to school for teaching, I have about 50 credits just need to finish

@number321, I don't know what the criteria here to do the teaching cert, or what's the difference between a sub license and a teaching license. I needed something quick, and at first I just want to do part time, but now I think can handle ft, and they hire ft subs here so, I think it depends on state, even different organizations go by different rules here.

oh ok I thought subs were not full time. u had to just be on call as needed. but full time is awesome
