Hey mamas! So yesterday i went to like my 3rd appt within a month. the reason why is because my dr tried doing the pap smear and vaginal ultrasound but couldnt because i was so scared and tense. he tried so many times but couldnt befause i was literally freaking out. he said i had vaginismus, (i was a virgin when i got married and did have some problems with sex in the beginning but now its fine) when it comes to anything going in there other than my hubbys u know what i freak out. so he referred me to a high risk dr. he said they had more equipment that would allow them to do everything abdominally instead of vaginally and that id have to have a c section. but is that even possible? like what about the pap smear? i read about a couple of ladies who didnt have it while pregnant and everything turned out fine. but im so nervous. and i feel so guilty for not being able to do it for my baby. 😢 i tried so hard so many times but i really couldnt. any thoughts/advice for this ftm?!

I never had a Pap smear. But if you don't want anything going in your vagina then you probably will have to get a cesarean

im self concious about my self down there and everytime i got a pap or my cerix and dialation checked i would just close my eyes and think of a happy place and just breathe.

I think it's very painful when they do a pap smear and its,also painful when they do a vaginal sonagram. it hurts me so bad that I tense up .but then again sex hurts me . :(

@kay.forsha, i tried to do that! i even tried having my husband with me and my mom, i ended up scratching their hands so bad i was so scared lol

@kotora, sex was so painful for me too when i first got married. but it got better. i wish it was like that with papsmears and v.us. its horrible for me. howd you get through it?

well the other dr should be able to see your baby abdominally. when i was 8 weeks pregnant they were able to see my baby through my abdomin. and a C-section is not as bad as it seems. the scar is hidden and you dont feel anything. i had a c-section and you can barely see my scar.

She just never gave me one. I've actually heard that it's dangerous to get one while pregnant but I'm not sure if that's true or not.

I don't think he meant you're high risk. I think he's sending you to a high risk doctor because of you not wanting anything in your vagina. Some women who are high risk can't have anything in there or have medical reasons to need abdominal ultrasounds instead of transvaginal, so he's sending you there because that's what they specialize in

I'm the same way. like sex ALWAYS hurts and my fiancé doesn't know why & neither do I. @kotora I'm scared too! :( @2ndchancemommy did They use too big of a scalpel or the thing they use to open it up. @kay.forsha some places don't have it for that early that's why they do v.us. @taylorrleee1 wow. that's surprising. you've never had a women checkup? they usually do one at the beginning of pregnancy too!

@14july2016, I believe they used a scalpel but the scar is under the underwear line. so if I was to wear a bikini, (which I probably wont) you'd never see it. all you see are my stretch marks.

@14july2016, Well they say you don't have to start getting them until you're sexually active and I was a virgin til I was 19 and got pregnant 6 months after that so I just never got around to it yet. So I'll get one after baby.
