How many of you didn't get a epidural? And how was it. And how many did get one, and how did it go,…

i got it, i regret it. i had a terrible experience giving birth because of it and now i'm stuck with excruciating back pain. but i had scoliosis prior to getting the epidural so it was inevitable i would suffer afterwards.

I had to have mine redone because it quit working. and my back is still killing me and I gave birth little over a week ago

My friends who have had one told me not to get it. I'm going to try so hard not to. I already have a lot of back pain. @lilmomma1415 @tiffanigypsy8

I got it and mine was amazing never wore off never felt a inch of pain after it pushing was easy it took me two pushes it helped me tremendously.. and I did have some back pain the next day but it wasn't excruciating back pain or anything to me it felt like how your arm would feel after getting the TDAP shot or whichever one of those shots that leave your arm all sore. I don't regret it for a second lol

I actually recommend it it helps you dilate faster and the pain of birth Hurts more than my back pain I tryed to go without it I got to a 4 and I was done

my best advice is to wait, get through some contractions and see how you feel. i didn't even get to feel a single contraction, i had them for hours and couldn't feel them so they ordered me to get the epidural because they were afraid they would all hit me at once and i wouldn't be able to handle it. but i wish i would have waited to see if i could have done it without. i had my son 3 weeks ago and i can't stand up straight, i hate taking advil but i have to every few hours or i'm dying. it's gotten so bad a few times that i had to call my mom to come hold my son and help me with him because i couldn't move muchless hold my baby.

I had my baby on the 13 and my back doesn't hurt anymore but who knows it may come back lol but like @lilmomma1415 I got to a 4 and tapped out it was too intense for me I couldn't even breathe through the contractions.. but maybe you can tolerate that pain lol

I have a high pain tolerance. Just worries me cause the back pain I have now with some contractions brings tears to my eyes. @kaliyahsmommy @lilmomma1415 @tiffanigypsy8

I didn't get an epidural with my middle child. he was my biggest baby too. I walked around the hospital floor and that helped. with my other 2 children I got induced and I got the epidural that pitocin is no joke. with my first I had a little bit of back pain for a few years on and off it wasn't bad it was a little soar. my youngest I got the epidural and have had no problems and that's 2 years ago . with this baby they already told me I will be induced before my due date to due high bp. so I know I'll be getting the epidural again.

2 kids, both with epidural and spinal block since I had a c-section. only thing that happened to my back was it got itchy for a few days along my spine.

I just had my baby today I had to get an epidural I was in so much pain but it took it all away it's just not my legs are still numb but I'm sure it'll be gone in a couple hours im not sure if I'll have back pain my mom had 4 epidurals and have no issues

I didn't have an epidural. I honestly didn't think the pain was too bad. The most painful time was when I got to 9-9 1/2 cm. That's when the contractions were hurting the most, but I could still tolerate them. I dilated pretty fast though. I got to the hospital about 515am and I was 7cm and my baby was born at 1045am.

i had four children without an epidural only because im very afraid of needles. it hurts but i got through it.

I had an epidural with my son. I had wanted to avoid it but they had to induce me. My body did NOT cooperate. The stronger my contractions got the less I started dilating. Nurses said it was cause I wouldn't "relax" during contractions, but it wasn't something I could help. After getting the epidural I was ready to push within 2 hours. It was annoying getting it because my anesthesiologist was a dick, but it didn't hurt getting it. I haven't had any back pains and it's been almost 5 years now. I do recall having some twinges of pain shortly after having him but I haven't had any lasting effects from it.
