need some financial advice.. husband got laid off in November from an excellent job..he got a new job making way less money. we sold our 1 car and are down to 1 cell phone also. unfortunately we have a decent amount of credit card debt that we are now struggling to pay (never used to be a problem). we will qualify for assistance when I go on maternity leave but how on earth am I going to pay for our credit cards? I applied for a debt consolidation loan because we have excellent credit but our debt to income ratio is too high now. we are really struggling with 1 car since we both work different shifts. I don't know how I'm going to find it in the budget to do all of this when I'm having a baby in 2 months. any advice!? I can't shut off my phone or internet/cable because we're under contract and the fee is pretty high. please help haha

is there any way you could apply for food stamps at this time to help with groceries? any stay at home jobs you could do part time as a second job? or something close by hubby could walk to for a second job?

They offer him overtime at last minute so I don't want to sacrifice that right now with a second job and I will qualify for food stamps once I get his first paycheck (thank goodness).. I'm a stylist and I stay busy doing all my friends and families hair at home on the side to make some extra cash..I'm just so nervous that I can't contribute when the baby gets here and we won't be able to pay our bills @jwest267 I almost need something I can do from the Internet or something but alot of businesses you have a start up cost.

do you have a good computer? a friend of mine applied for the home shopping network HSN and they do customer service support from home. I don't know of many other companies from home I'm sorry but you could try that!
