Ladies, I just left the Doctor's office and the Doctor said that he is concerned the baby is too large. He scheduled me for an ultrasound next Tuesday to check her weight. I am 36 weeks and 3 days, I'm due April 18th. Have any of you ever been told this and what was the outcome? If the baby is too large does that mean my due date is earlier than predicted or does that mean I will have to be induced or schedule a c-section? The Doctor kept telling me my due date was correct but insisted the baby was very large. He kept pressing on my belly saying, "there's a big baby in there!"

A girl I know got induced last week just a week or two before her due date because her doctor said her baby was really big

Well she said her doctor told her they were gonna induce her before she wasn't able to have a natural birth by the baby growing too large.

Just saw your post! They haven't told me anything about my weight gain or what foods not to eat even though I've gained 70lbs so far, I was 120 pre-pregnancy and now I'm 190!!! I still have 3 and a half weeks to go too...

ugg i feel your pain. i knew he was growing large my entire pregnancy. the combination of things i have been dealing with we knew it was something to watch. we prayed he would slow his growth but he didnt.. if anything it excelerated. which in the last few weeks is really common because they pack on fat. but last week i was told that i needed to get to 36 weeks for his safety. but they dont want me to go past that. and after the ultrasound and his consistent growth rate that by the time i hit that mark it wont be safe for either of us for me to deliver naturally. so now in am being scheduled for a c-section. i am devestated. but i have to consider my babies health and safety. so disapointed.

I've been measuring way ahead, and baby was measuring at 6 lbs 10 oz 3 weeks ago. they didn't change my due date and aren't planning to induce. he's just big. my second baby was 9 lbs and I had a very easy natural labor. idk why DR's are so quick to induce or schedule a c section

At 36 weeks my son measured 8 lbs 9 oz my c section was scheduled at 39 weeks he was born weighing 7 lbs 10 oz.

@leylasmommy, so the measurements were way off with your son he was born at an average weight, I wonder if I should deny a c-section and see what happens naturally in case the same thing happens. Was the healing process very difficult with the c-section?

Yes it was. &I once you have a c section all your births are c section. I wanted to experience actual labor this time and my doctor said no way. I would deny it
