So I took the glucose test and I failed the first time, I just finished taking my 3 hour glucose test since I failed the first time. What will happen if I fail this one too? My midwife hasn't gone over what will happen if I fail the 3 hour one with me yet..

how do you fail it? I'm getting instructions for it at my next appointment and I'm curious lol

i think if you fail the 3 hour one. it means you have gestational diabetes

My midwife told me to eat before the test like protein nothing else so I did then the test results came back the normal is 130 and I failed with 170 I have a feeling I failed because I ate before and you're not supposed too after midnight

Yes that's what it will mean but I'm curious on what I'll have to do since I have it I know I'll have to check my blood a lot but will I have to visit the office more and should I be worried

I have it. I go in every 2 weeks now, it was once a month. they take your vitals look at your numbers you write down when you check your sugar. say your doing good or not and that is about it. I have been checking almost my whole pregnancy. ugh. I hate it. I'm not on any meds. so far so good. just make sure you eat right and exercise. they won't yell at you :). I wouldn't worry to much.

I'm at the end of my pregnancy so I hope I didn't have it this entire time and not been getting treated for it

I failed mine, it just means you have gestational diabetes. you have to monitor your blood sugars with a glucose meter, and have to be on a special "diet". It's really not that bad, the diet is a lot healthier for you and baby. and if you do have gestational diabetes, they will test baby after they're born for 12 hours to make sure they aren't diabetic.
