Hi everyone!!! I have been having sharp pain around my back/side/rib area. Both the left and right are affected but the right side is worse. It never hurt when I pressed on the area before, but now it is sore to the touch. I had this sharp, cramp type of pain before I was pregnant but not as often. I'm not sure if I had a back issue and just the extra weight, things shifting is causing the pain to be more frequent. Has anyone had this before? I would go to the hospital to get a scan done, but I don't want to harm the baby. I'm at a loss.

it sounds like gallstones. usually with pregnancy it gets worse because out hormones cause our gallbladder to make more stones. and it will get worse. let your doctor know asap and mention that you think it might be gallstones. if there's an infection during your second trimester then they will suck the stones out, and then give you the option of removing your gallbladder after you have the baby.

I had liver issues while pregnant. I think you should see your doctor sooner then later and see if they can check your blood platelets, liver enzymes and check for protein in your urine. It could be gallstones also. When is your next dr spot?
