I need advice. I moved into a tiny apartment late November and we are on a year long lease. the apartment keeps having issues (plumbing, broken heater, possible mold in the walls etc) and its an upstairs unit and the farther along I get, the harder it is for me to get up and down the stairs.
we have found a place to rent closer to my parents house, its still needing some work before we can move in but its so much better than where we are and the owner goes to church with us and we know he'd keep up the unit for us.
theres not a lot of room for our family in this apartment and it's only gonna get tighter once the baby comes. moving seems like the best option for us (less in rent, no stairs, closer to family)
how should I bring this up to the landlord we have now? we'd be able to give 2 months notice of intent to move.... I don't want to burn bridges, but we would be breaking a lease. any suggestions?

try to come up with an agreement because having a broken lease on rental history is soo damaging to your credit and it will be so hard to be able to rent or buy a house

breaking a lease does NOT affect your credit, it only affects your rental history so moving elsewhere or buying a house would be affected unless you know the new landlord.
