my dr wants to induce me. I dont have preeclampsia. or anything. my sugars are under control. shes a tad over weight. and my doctor is concerned. but im nervous being 35 weeks pregnant and measuring full term. will my baby be ok?

They can't accurately tell you how big baby is going to be either. They said my son would be 6 pounds, but he was exactly 8 pounds when he was born. They can be 2 pounds under or over their guess. Also, try avoiding an epidural and walk a lot during labor. If you give birth on all fours or squatting instead of on your back then you're less likely to tear or have baby get stuck.
my doctor told me my son was going to be high in the 6lbs to 7lbs. come to find out he was 8lbs 13oz!! my doctor was shocked haha! she could definitely be off a pound by the weight either smaller or bigger.
she never saw me before. and my other obs said shes fine. no need for induction

@santistevanmommie, that's why you gotta trust your doctor! And know when he/she says baby is getting to big, that it can be dangerous for baby and momma. Better baby be out and safe then get stuck in the birth canal because went into labor and ended up being too big like doctor said. @shelbil
@candacelouise, she could also not be as far along as they say. My daughter was born at what they thought was 38wks but turns out she was only 35-36 wks try to have them wait for as long as they can before inducing you. They could be wrong about her weight
Without medical issues I would wait as long as baby needs. A big baby is absolutely not a reason to induce and there are babies born at 37 weeks that go to the NICU all the time despite being "term." Every week your baby grows stronger and she knows when she's ready to be born.
she said she could schedule it for before 39 weeks so about 36-37 weeks. ill be 35 thursday. and she was estimated between 5-6 last thursday.
When I was 35 weeks all my doctors and nurses said my baby would be just fine if I had to have her. They will give u a shot of steroids that will help the babies lungs.
@shelbil, if doctor thinks baby is ready to come, then baby is ready! Remember your due date is always an estimated date! You could be further along than that
@candacelouise, I did trust my dr and he told me you're gonna have a big baby. They can't be 100% sure that's why you be careful. I like I said they thought she was 38wks and she wasn't. She was still a big baby. It's risk just try to prolong it if you can
