They usually only do ultrasounds after 20 weeks if it's deemed necessary. meaning if your high risk, if a doctor needs it to get more information on the baby, to check baby's position if they aren't sure, to check size if they think baby is too small or too big, or something else along those lines. in a normal pregnancy with no problems, you wouldn't have another ultrasound.

some do.. my friend had one once a month but she was high risk her whole pregnancy

I just got one last week at 36 weeks to check to see if my son was still breech - but unfortunately I got my hopes up that we'd get to see his face, but nope, all she did was check to see if his head was down & once she found that it was down, she stopped 😭😭😭

They did mines at 37 weeks to check if my baby was head down or breach ..
