It kinda depends on where you live. I have been trying for MONTHS because I heard it takes at least six weeks for the process to be happening... but in my state I swear I can't get any answers on anything. I have been to multiple places and asked so many people. I was trying to get ahead of it but it looks like I just have to wait.
Yeah it really sucks. People have told me to get on top of it and figure it out now but I swear the ladies at DHS were so rude to me... they were like "Is the baby born yet? Then why are you even here? If you're trying to get money now, we can't help you." I am NOT trying to get money for myself I was just trying to get ahead of it like it seems you are trying to do. I see that as a great thing. They basically said I shouldn't have gotten pregnant then with a man who isn't around. I wanted to slap this lady. I drove so far and waited in line forever for THAT?
