when you are trying to convince one of your 19 year old nephews that school should take priority…

and he's a type 1 diabetic, and in danger of losing his financial aid as it is

at this point in his life school should be number 1 or don't go

that's what I'm trying to make him understand lol he's the most hard headed of my husbands nephews.... the other 2 who are his age (the 3 sisters all had kids the same year lol) are being responsible about school and work (one is still in high school because of his birthday but still he's on honor roll almost all the time)

it's hard at that age, school was never a priority for me. I scraped by in high school getting like straight Ds, so I knew that I wasn't really ready for college yet. I'm going to go back and finishing college after I've lived a little bit and figured out what I even want to do.... maybe he'll find a calling through working on his truck, and look into that as a career even. I have a friend that works for Ford getting $20/hour just doing oil changes and he's not even certified, could you imagine what he'd get if he did go to school for it??

he's going to school for diesel mechanics, he's already failed a couple classes that we know of..... he is one of those kids that he will fix it up and then trade it for something else, not really even making money from it..... that's how he got the truck, he had traded 2 quads for a motorcycle (he fixed the quads up) then he traded the motorcycle for this truck that needs body work and a new clutch system.... he works as John deere as a mechanic but barely gets $70 a paycheck due to school and he didn't save the money from his financial aid to be able to take classes in the summer..... I want to see him succeed but he needs to concentrate on school in my opinion..... it is definitely a tough age lol he already moved out of his mom's house (for 24 hours lol) because he had a "temper tantrum" (that's what my husband says lol)
