What can I expect from the one hour glucose test? I got a script from my doctor and gotta schedule…

Don't stress you just have to drink the stuff in front of them. You will either go to the waiting room or to a room and after and hour the poke your finger and check your sugar levels. I have to get my second one done at my next Appt.

Nah the one hour is no biggie. They check your finger like if you were diabetic poke and done. Just look away when they go to do it. You don't see a need in the device they use. The three hour is only done if you fail the one hour. Same thing just more drawn out.

They drink tends to be clear now which makes it soooo much easier than how it used to be. They used to be colored and like kool aid with two pounds if sugar. I have a weak stomach when it comes to sweets. Didn't phase me this time. I only have to do it a second time because I'm having twins.

@hannahbbtt it's not too bad. You just go drink a drink and they test your blood to see weather or not your body handles it the way it's supposed to. The only time you have to go back for a three hour test is if you fail the one hour test.. You'll go back and do basically the same procedure just instead of one hour it will be three hours and see if they made a mistake on the one hour test. The only drink my dr offered me was orange flavored, I've seen a lot of people say they got to choose the flavor. It just taste like a really sugary koolaid mix

@hannahbbtt I understand what you mean try talking to your nurse while there taking it seems to help me kinda takes your mind off of things
