How Common Are Surgical Objects Left in Patients After Surgery?
Today I was watching "monsters inside me" and this one girl just had a C-section and about 3 weeks after went to the hospital due to not having any bowel movements for 100 days straight, and abdomen pain. They went to give her a vagina ultrasound and she couldn't because it hurts so bad that they ended up having to have to do a x-ray and found out they left a surgical sponge in her during her C-section... then continued to say 4000 women a year have some type of surgical object left in them during surgery... WHAT THE FUCK!

Okay, so I had a c section and everything was going great until I heard them counting the lap pads and I heard one of them say they were missing one. I seriously started freaking out so bad the anesthesiologist was like are you okay!? Luckily they checked and counted again and found it but I was freaking out

@santistevanmommie, The doctor on this show said that most hospitals count before and after and some even have bar codes but I was like OMG when I heard this. then started crying of course

I didn't notice the before part but my husband was with me, so when it was just me I was listening to them talk and it scared me when they said they were missing one. Luckily for me tho they found it. It's a scary thought
