my birth story ♡♡♡♡♡♡
My sweet boy is here ♡♡♡ with every intention of going natural I ended up getting an epidural due to an odd intuition... I got it at 8cm. My water broke at 8am and I was at 8cm around noon but I had about a 6 pain on a scale to 10.. they didn't think he was head down and we had to get an US to verify.. then my bag completely broke and my cervix went back to a 6.. then 7, and then 5.. THEN his heart rate began dropping with contractions.. after my 11th hour of labor my Dr finally said I was full bagel lol and we needed to get baby out bc he didn't want that heart rate going up and down and I kept going in and out of consciousness.. after my epidural they hooked up pitocin with my permission to help get my body going (at this point I wanted baby out).. I was trying to avoid a c section...
After I got to full bagel I started pushing.. and... he got stuck.. my doctor kept saying how sorry he was that my birth plan wasn't being followed and my response was get my baby out.. after 4 strong pushes he wasn't budging and he was trying to go back inward so we had to suction.. one last push and he was out..
My boy was born with a true tight knot.. the cord was completely white and very tightly knotted.. the nurses were all in shock and called him a miracle baby.. couldn't help but cry and be beyond thankful for him coming sooner than expected and for following my instincts..
I appreciate my doctor constantly apologizing about my birth plan but I was able to walk around, rock, he put baby on me asap, cleaned him off on my abdomen for me, and let him latch.. we tried following my plan 100% but overall I'm just happy to have him here finally.
Thank you all for giving me the strength to go with my instincts no matter what it was and for sharing all your beautiful stories with me throughout this pregnancy.
I didn't tear but I totally forgot how rough the hemorrhoids could be *cries* lol. The first nurse blew 2 veins in my arm.. not noticing the 2nd one and my arm ended up filling up and looking super swollen lol. Talk about bruises.

Oh my I'm so happy for you. Serious congratulations are in order! That's really crazy about the cord, is there any way to tell a cord is knotted before the baby is born? Something like that definitely scares me cause it's extremely hard to prevent! I really am over the moon for you though, I saw the pic of your son and he's beautiful. Thank god he's healthy! Has your little girl met her brother yet?

@emkasting she adores him but she still unsure of who he is lol. the cord thing is rare 1 in 2000. but knots in cords are 1 in 100 but the one he had was a true tight vs a regular knot.. most babies with true tight knots don't make it and they only detect it late in pregnancy with a dropped heart rate. thank you so much ♡

I use my Doppler alllll the time haha, weekly at least to make sure his heart rate doesn't sound off, too fast or too slow. Thank you for your info :) I'm so so happy that your baby made it through even with something like a tight knot in his cord, truly a miracle. And it must be so fun seeing your firstborn meet and get to know him! What an amazing journey ❤️ I hope you keep us updated on how it goes once your home with two kiddos!
