nicu. neonatal intensive care unit. my son was in it for almost three months it's a place that can take in babies that where born early. may have medical issues. or just are totally fine but are under the 5lb go home weight.
it isn't a BAD thing. I'm forever grateful for the NICU just as many other parents are. in the three months I saw over twenty babies go on and out with in days of being put in there some where in for a week some longer. the nurses where all amazing and very helpful. they are there for you thru all the UPS and the downs. and they even cried when my son finally got discharged. they help you learn how to feed baby a certain way bath baby it was actually an amazing experience.
