Guys. Holy crap. I'm 36 weeks. I have 26 days until my due date. 26. How the heck am I going to do this?? My biggest fear was childbirth. It still kind of is but now there's another one that goes with it, I'm terrified of being separated from my daughter after giving birth. I don't want her leaving mine or my boyfriends, her dad's, side. Another thing scaring me is I've tried talking to my boyfriend about this, saying if I'm too medicated or whatever & I can't function to hold our daughter after she's born (which I'm NOT wanting at all) that I DO NOT want her taken out of the room to go to the nursery, that she is to stay in the room with us unless it's 10000000% medically necessary, because there's no reason for her to leave the room when she has him, my mom, & I there to care for her. But he doesn't care if she stays in the room or not and completely blows me off and calls me ridiculous when I bring it up to the point of actually waving a hand in my direction like "oh whatever" & I get so frustrated with it I want to scream at him to either "be on board, help me come up with a plan DAD for the birth of our daughter, and start being effing supportive for once or to effing stay home!!" This is the scariest time of my life right now & I feel like I'm doing it all completely on my own because I haven't been able to talk to my mom about my pregnancy very much because she won't agree with some choices I made, & my grandma is the same way but she's also been gone on her retirement/50 year anniversary trip with my grandpa, I'm not about to try talking to my boyfriends mom for anything, & I stopped talking to pretty much all of my friends bc they either weren't good around kids, I didn't particularly them anyway, or were making really bad decisions & I didn't want to have my child around them. (I had like 3 friends before this anyways so no big deal) but ughhhh so much is stressing me out I could just really use a friend right now. 😣😖😭

Tell your doctor!! Let them know that you want your baby in the room the whole time. It's my hospital's policy for the baby to room in with the mother unless medically necessary. I'm sorry you don't have the support you deserve & I hope things get better, if you ever need someone to vent to feel free to message me :)

@killxj0y, my OB & I have a lot of issues & my last hospital trip was so bad I was asking to just go home. I'm so worried something is going to go wrong

Don't be scared for child birth. Yes, it's extremely painful, but it's the most rewarding thing there is. And they can't take her out unless you give permission or it's some type of emergency where they would need to take her out.

A lot of hospitals are allowing more time with baby after birth which I think is awesome child birth is nothing to be afraid it's painful yes but it's so worth it in the end

Everyone keeps saying "it's so worth it" "it's like you get a prize at the end" "oh don't be scared it's bad but you get your baby after" etc but honestly none of that helps me. It's childbirth, I know what happens at the end, but everything before that is scary and hellish.

@i.xvi.mmxvi, my hospital takes the babies to do tests outside of the room, which I don't like since you can't go with them when they take your baby. @naty199613 my hospital doesn't allow anyone but hospital personnel in the nursery, wether it's your baby or not.

@madi-girlsmama, Then switch hospitals. I personally am not okay with that at all, and would switch hospitals in a heartbeat. If you're really not okay with it then switch. You really never know what can happen behind the scenes. Hospitals will cover up stuff because they don't want to get sued, which is why my baby is not leaving the room when I do have one. And I don't really know what to tell you about labor. It sucks. I was never really that anxious about it, but just try to relax. Thousands of women go through it every single day.

@i.xvi.mmxvi, they've already told me I can't switch 😡😡😡 & the OB I have works with that hospitals birthing center so no one will take me because "I'm already seeing the people who will be at the hospital for my birth anyways so switching is pointless" & I'm so fed up with it.

No one can tell you where you can or can't give birth. It's your decision. It's your life. What do you think would happen if you were out of town and went into labor? You'd give birth out of town. It's not like they would say oh, nope, you've gotta give birth at such and such hospital. My OB is associated with Martha Jefferson and he sent me to UVA to give birth and everything was fine.

There's a few but the one by my moms doesn't have a NICU just in case, the other one is worse than mine I've been told, & I don't know of any others. @naty199613

If I were out of town I'd stay out of town to have her elsewhere @i.xvi.mmxvi

Odds are you're probably not going to need a NICU unless you have her early.

I am the same way as you! I'm terrified to give birth, I've got 8 weeks left and every single day I freak out a little bit more. But like you I REALLY don't want my baby to be taken out of the room no matter WHAT. We are going to a hospital with private NICU rooms too so that way if (god forbid) my baby needs to be in the NICU he still won't have to leave my room. I'm so freaking scared though.
