What is up with women trying to induce themselves before they're full term??? Let your child GROW and DEVELOP.…

I just posted almost the same status.. I'm getting sick of it. I didn't start doing anything until 37 weeks and I ok'd everything with my doctor. Some things women do are absolutely ridiculous.

Exactly. I've seen multiple 36 weekers saying they're going to induce themselves. I literally told one she still has 4 weeks (a FULL MONTH) that her baby needs to develop. Despite many people's beliefs, babies do need those last weeks of development. Yeah they can survive outside of the womb before then but they're likely to be much healthier when they're full full term.

@babymaciesmomma, @cass_lynne it drives me crazy too! Especially being the mom of a premature baby! I knew a girl who tried inducing at 34 weeks and I literally cried because I would have killed to make it that far! It might be miserable to go full term, but you're doing what's best for your child. That's what motherhood is about.

@babymaciesmomma, right! I'll go the full 40 weeks if I have to. I may be ready to meet my baby but if I don't go into labor naturally after at least 38 weeks I'm not ingesting anything that could harm my child just because I'm tired. That's when my doctor needs to step in.

And they always do the most dangerous things. I have a hard time feeling bad for women who put their children and themselves in danger. Most of them get warned by women on here. We are all impatiently waiting for our babies to come, but for you to put your baby in danger is selfish.

Yeah I've seen sooner than 36 weeks too but 4 weeks is a month. It's a long time. The baby still needs that. I went to 40 weeks 5 days. I turned down induction that my doc offered at 38 weeks.

I might sound silly, but what does that mean when a woman induce themselves ?

@cass_lynne, it's the most selfish thing a mom can do. a baby doesn't ask to come into the world, so why force them when they're not ready? No one should want a premature baby just because😕

My doc is inducing me at 37 weeks. That's early enough for me. Just hope my body is ready to participate!

Oh my, 😳😥 that sounds awful 🤕 why would a mommy do that,.. ☹️

Thanks @raegenice - we measured him on Tuesday and he is 7 lbs and looking perfect. By 37 he should still be over 8 lbs and perfect. I didn't want induction but preeclampsia had other plans for us!

@akeko1030, after 37 weeks is when babies are considered full term. Some moms try to self induce around 34-36 weeks, but they do it by using oils and herbs. It's harmful to mom and baby😕

@emeliaday, so sorry! my best friend went through the same thing. It's such a sucky situation but so glad you get to meet your little one soon and your preeclampsia will be gone after you give birth.

This is spot on. So many women do this and wonder why their babies have digestive issues.

@realdancemom, exactly. First thing I think of is that castor oil or any other herb/oil giving a baby some severe gas, diarrhea and/or intestinal issues.
