My doctor gave me the okay to do it, because of my morning sickness and anxiety. she said the last month (april) to stop just in case the hospital wants to drug test. 2 of my friends never had any issues with it.
@brookegerrish, honestly i smoked almost my entire pregnancy and my baby boy came out healthy. I was worried they were gonna test me when I got sick with the flu then phnemonea I had an emergency c section I literally almost died and my son came out healthy im so thankful. They didn't test me for drugs. He is the calmest baby he only cries when he's hungry or needs a diaper change.
whaaat! I have never heard of that! I like that they do that. I would hope they would step in the first time for a positive for heavier drugs..
The only thing I'd be wary of is I know some states are allowed to periodically check for drugs when they test your blood and urine. My hospital calls CPS after the second positive. Even for weed. I don't personally smoke but my friend had her baby taken away for awhile until she could prove she wasn't smoking.
I feel like there has never been anything to say that it hurts your baby! I love weed, but I also get to nervous to do it also!
I have a friend that smoked during her last pregnancy and this current one. Both babies r perfectly healthy.
I know a few women that smoked their entire pregnancy, it didn't seem to effect their baby health wise.
The medical studies we looked into were really bad and full of scare tactics. It looked like the only side effect that was seen was lower birth weight, but it wasn't consistent. Also in a lot if the studies they did, they only asked if they smoked and didn't ask about other drugs. So its uncertain, it could have no effect or very little effect and we just haven't done enough studies to know.
