random question. thinking about getting an IUD but did you need to be on your period to get an IUD…

I think you need to have just gotten off it. I don't remember but I definitely wouldn't recommend the IUD. it really hurts when they put it in and I had the worst symptoms after.

They say that you do need to be on your period. But I am 4 months pp and breast feeding so I haven't even gotten one yet and I told my ob that and she said that she could still put it in.

I was not on my period when I got mine. I was 6 week PP and it did hurt. the only symptoms I had was cramps and a little bleeding. other than that I'm happy I got it and I love it#
