soo, ladies tell me what u think about this. I work in a prison... there has been an out break of the flu, so the building I work in will be used as a quirenten for all the men who have the flu, mind you this building is not build for situations like that. noone has notified us and we all are expected to continue working... I haven't gotten the flu shot and I don't think the proper procedures are being done to inhibit the virus from spreading. I'm not really sure how this works but I'm afraid it isn't safe (no pun intended) .

I would start by getting your flu shot. Make sure you get one that is for pregnant women. Then I would speak to a supervisor. I worked at a jail and they found me a different position for the beginning of my pregnancy before I stopped working there(for other reasons).

That's a really tricky situation. Definitely go get your flu shot ASAP. You can go right into Walgreens or Rite Aid and get it done quickly. Talk to your area supervisor and if they can't do anything about it, I would then talk to my doctor. Maybe he can get you a two week pass out of work.

@cass_lynne, the whole situation is a mess I called the obgyn and asked if I could get the flu shot and her secratery answered aying yes so I ask well is there a certain kind I can get that and she says oh well I don't know about that ur gonna have to call the nurse and ask her ..... ummm that's who I called in the first place u put ur two cents in... I wasn't calling to speak to a secretary 😈😠😲 I'm so over today

I would go get the shot, I got it and wasn't sick my whole pregnancy and was around many with the flu

@jennatess, that's what I will do tomorrow. I was trying to hold of for the little while I have working. I'm so against the flu shot even when I'm not pregnant but right now it's about my little one and anything I have to do to keep her safe I will

I work in a jail, and I use to work in a prison. When I was at the prison they made up get flu shots but the jail doesn't care. So now to be safe i get my flu shot actively because it is really common in the jails and prisons. Being that you are pregnant the only place that you are somewhat safe from it is on the control room. But I would talk to your Obgyn since no one can give you a straight answer, and then with your supervisor.

@santanna86, even in there I don't believe It is safe. I'm not a co and I have constant interactions with the inmates. I did talk to my supervisor and she told me to talk to the regional director. nothing is done right I'm just tired of this place and the lack of concern for staffs well being.

Regional director, yea they don't care and giving you the run around. It's sad though that they don't too much care for their staff. If you deal with them on a regular basis, I would risk my health for a company who can care less about me and my well being
