my last app my doc checked not sure if she will this Fri I'll be 38 weeks

really?? I just went to my 36 week appointment and she said that from this week on she will be checking my cervix and positioning of the baby etc each week.

I get checked every appointment.

@cass_lynne, my doctor is so annoying... Ty I was just checking... I've never made it this far but I thought it was standard procedure to check each week

I thought they checked each week the closer u got with my first I believe she started checking 37 weeks and each visit after its been four yrs I forget

my doctor usually waits until 39 weeks but if you ask she'll definitely check for you.

yes that's when she checked mine but she asked me did I wasn't too be checked.

With my first I was checked 3 days before my due date because I was having contractions 20 mins apart, I have the same midwife this time so I'm assuming she won't be checking me before my due date again unless I'm having contractions again

just her fingers. she's never used a speculum to check my cervix.

Mine said they won't normally check due to infection but mine said if I want it check I can just tell them

@bianca_rose, yeah but we have a complicated situation so I thought he would understand. We are 30 mins away from the hospital (I had my daughter 14 mins exactly after my water broke) I had both my kids prematurely. We are in a state where I have no family so if I go into labor when my kids are at school I have to get them first because my husband works two hours away and 3 if it's around 5pm... So it would be nice to have him on a higher alert knowing I'm dilated more or something

Mine did on the 35 and 36th week and I was not dilated. When I went this week at almost 37 weeks she asked me if I was having contractions and I said no so she said she's not going to bother checking this week.

@bianca_rose, me too @babyg407 oh ok well usually I thought they would put you on the monitor when having contractions but my doctor doesn't even do that
