Not weird at all! They make you jump through sooo many hoops though, and you have to be qualified in so many tiny little areas.

My friend is a surrogate as we speak. Here is the basic list of "musts". This fits all 50 states criteria. There are more, but this is first before you can go on to round two. Haha. I think it's wonderful! You'd really be helping someone start a family! •Overall good health without any psychiatric illness or sexually transmitted diseases.

•Financially secure and not be in need of or receiving state or federal government assistance.

•Birthed at least one child that she is currently raising and experienced uncomplicated pregnancies.

•Zero miscarriages or ectopic pregnancy.

Be between the ages of 21-38.

•Non-smoker and not be exposed to second hand smoke.

•Must not use illegal drugs.

•Have a healthy height to weight ratio (BMI) as determined by a medical professional.

•Possess a high school diploma.

•U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.A.

•Responsibly take all medications (oral, patches, injections, etc.) as instructed.

@jennatess, Utah state regulates surrogates so they have similar requirements. All of which I meet, surprisingly so I'll have to apply after I have my baby.
