Ladies, STOP telling each other that bleeding while pregnant is "normal"! In some cases yes it is normal, but everyone is not a "normal case" we all don't have the same health, or babies. When bleeding it can mean other things than implantation bleeding. Remember, it could also be a miscarriage. If you have RH- blood and your vaginally bleeding your putting your health and the babies at risk when you don't go to the hospital to get a Rhogam shot(RH- blood is really common in women)
We are not doctors, and yes we can give our experience but don't always take it for that just because something was "normal" for one of us, always go to the hospital or call your OB ASAP!

@leiibaaaby, yes! but with the RH- its any type of bleeding, so hopefully if someone spots they at least get checked.

Well I'm RH- and in the beginning I had spotting n I was told it was normal. It all depends on how heavy the spotting is. Tbh ur blood typed don't matter

@anthonysmommie080116, being RH-(not having rhogam in your blood) does matter because if their is bleeding, like you said depends how heavy or where its actually coming from, and if its coming from the baby(inside your cervix) then it can be dangerous, it could possibly kill your baby, because then there's mixing of yours and the babies blood.

this is why its so important to see a doctor being RH-, If your baby is RH positive and if or When an Rh-negative mother’s blood comes into contact with blood from her Rh-positive fetus, it causes the antibodies to attack the Rh factor (the baby) as if it were a harmful substance. Sometimes I don't think people fully understand that.

@nichole_lynn, I didn't fully understand that until I was in the hospital last week getting checked and the doctor actually explained that to me since I'm RH-. I had bleeding, but he said it was like a cut on my cervix, so since it wasn't coming from inside its okay. he said its like when your pregnant and cut your finger, your blood is still your blood, it isn't being mixed with the baby's blood so its fine but if its coming from inside the cervix then its a different story. I posted a picture above

That's not something u have to worry about until ur in ur 3 trimester tho which is y they give u the shot when ur 28 weeks so in the beginning yes spotting is normal it depends on how heavy it is and also if cramping is along with it

I had a friend who was RH- and her baby was positive and her body thought to fight it off and it caused her to loose baby. that's why I explained it like that. I was with her when the doctor told her what happepend. @kelseys but everyone's different :) not one pregnancy is the same! just listen to your doctor!

@anthonysmommie080116, its not something to only worry about till the third trimester, when you have a miscarriage you have to get a rhogam shot, because of the mixing of the two bloods. if I were to start bleeding now from my cervix I would need a rhogam shot and then would get another at my 28weeks.

@anthonysmommie080116, just because RH- is a common thing during pregnancy doesn't mean it isn't serious, because in some cases it actually is serious. that's like saying well most women get preeclampsia, so its no big deal when really it is, because it can harm both your health and the baby's.

@nichole_lynn, exactly. my doctor told me basically the deadline to get the rhogam shot is at 27/28weeks, if not then your body is going to fight it. and I'm sure there's cases where its happened before the 27/28week. with my first son, my doctor told me I was lucky I got the shot just in time since I had bearly found out I was pregnant and had no clue I was rh-.

That's rare tho and not many women are RH- tbh
Mari·

@anthonysmommie080116, its not "rare" because then that mean basically nobody has it but its also not uncommon to have it. and so many women on here have already said that they have it and they aren't fully educated on it while being pregnant, so that's basically my whole point about RH-. common or not, women still have it, it can still effect the baby and mother in some cases, so just because not a lot of women have it doesn't mean it isn't a big deal or something to watch during your pregnancy.

No it's rare that it can effect the baby cuz u dont know the blood type until the baby gets here. Yes it can effect the baby if the baby is positive and u are negative ur right but again it is rare for it to happen that way BUT they give the shot as a precaution so just in case so it won't happen. You digging way too deep into it I'm pretty sure if it was that deep doctors would make u get the shot way before 28 week
