So my dad has always been crazy strict and over protective while growing up, because of that I still feel like I am a little kid in his eyes, my own, and many others. I graduated highschool almost 3 years ago and live in an apartment with my boyfriend. I am 27 weeks pregnant and still managed to keep it a secret from my family expect my mom. Today my boyfriend is going over my parents house to tell my dad about the baby and I am freaking out. Can't stop worrying and my mind is racing.

@babes87101116, thank you. It's just my family gets disappointed easily. My parents have 5 kids and we're all supposed to be these all A students and get married later on then have kids and I seem to be the one to always disappoint. My older brother just got his NBA from Michigan State and is looked at as some kind of King and not so much for the rest of us. It's stressful.

@gcpaschal, my boyfriend is telling him because my dad believes it's the man job. He was mad when my sister told him and hates the father of my niece. He thought her dad should of been a man and the one to tell him.

I kept it from my dad til I was around 25 weeks or so but now that he knows I feel kind of silly for not telling him sooner. realistically there's not much he can do but either accept it & support you as a father should or not & risk losing your relationship... he'll probably take the news a lot better than you're picturing 😊

I feel you on that. For me I let it consume me in the past. It even affected my marriage. I finally separated the two and started living my life. I deal with certain family members from afar because it's too much. Parents tend to really control their kids even after they're adults.

I was the same way but I can almost guarantee it won't be as horrible as you're thinking it will be! I cried so much before telling my dad & I think at first he probably was a little upset but really there's nothing he could say or do to change the situation... now he's excited to be a grandpa again lol he was definitely more disappointed that I waited so long to tell him rather than the fact I'm pregnant 🙈 hoping everything goes well for you!
