Well my little sister Kaylene is super happy today. She finally got to hold her son today for the first time since he was born. And Jeremiah is already 2 weeks old today.
So once they got everything back down where it was supposed to be and got the hole in his diaphragm closed they found that his stomach cavity was to small to fit all of his organs so they had to put them in what they call a silo so that over a few days they could slowly put them back in to slowly stretch his belly out to fit them all in there. And he went back in to surgery on Thrusday to close his belly up. He is an incredible little fighter and he is doing amazing.
@freethemilkmakers, he was born 2 days before her scheduled induction date which was scheduled for 39 weeks as they found out via ultrasound at 20 weeks that he had what is called a diaphragmatic hernia which is a hole in the diaphragm. And @andiryan93 the reason he has all those cords and tubes is because he had to have surgery after birth to fix the hole in his diaphragm. They thought that just his stomach and part of his intestines were up by his heart and left lung but Monday when they went in to do surgery they found out that his spleen, all of his large intestine, all of his stomach, part of his small intestine and part of his liver were up by his heart and left lung.
