what smoking while pregnant can do I hear a lot of people boast about how their baby was fine including a friend of mine yea well your one of the lucky ones whose child made it with no health issues as you played Russian roulette with a baby that had no choice to get away... I just want to go up to a pregnant women smoking and smack it out of her hand, just my opinion not trying to offend were all grown and have opinions

Agreed. I know its hard for women to quit but I hate when people try and condone it like well my baby is fine and healthy blah blah blah. thats great !!! Thats called a blessing from God !! But there's plenty of other women who werent as lucky and regret their decision.

Not to mention, smoking is a long term killer...you often dont see its effects until decades later!

@tahtahme, yes that's very true baby maybe fine now but later could develop issues ,my son and I went to my mother in law she smokes so when we go it's not even once a month for a short time but I'm not even pregnant and it affected my son after we left he was coughing bad and I knew it was because of that and held back tears and anger my boyfriend doesn't realize that's why he was coughing because he grew up around it so when I tell him why I know he feels sad but also feels offended because it his mom she will smoke in the other room but leaves the door open then slowly works her way out and smokes her kitchen is literally two steps to the living room it's an apartment so your basically still in the sane room smoking... I hate going there

I agree. I smoked for 7 years but the day I found out I was pregnant I said I'd smoke one more and I couldn't even finish it and I never smoked again. My son is now almost 5 months and I still haven't smoked and I never will for my son. My sons dad also quit smoking the day our son was born. It can happen!!

My boyfriend sister smoked and drank with all 4 of her kids and I was very disgusted by it .

@katienkaden, well that makes me happy to hear I'm glad you both quit,I know a lot of people go straight back to it and their excuse is stress

I didn't find out I was pregnant until 13 weeks and I was a smoker I was FREAKED out but thankfully baby is perfectly healthy and growing fine. But yeah I def quit once I knew!
