It really annoys me that certain places consider my baby a premie when she actually isn't. Yes, she was born early but she still made it to term. And she is just a naturally small, petite baby

How many weeks were you when you delivered? My daughter was 38wks and they considered her early because of the way they do it now. 39-40 is all that's considered term now

She was born at exactly 37 weeks. 37 weeks and on is considered term by both my OB and the hospital. But her pediatrician and WIC consider her premie. I guess it doesn't really matter but I find it annoying because they're always shocked that she's either right on track or advanced in all her milestones.

Yeah some Drs consider it term some don't. New information I guess says babies are considered early if they're before 39wks. Our new dr considers her early even tho she was 2days from 39wks, but you wouldn't know it by looking at her

@santistevanmommie, the only thing about my baby is just that she is small and petite. She's completely healthy and very smart and active. Its just irritating hearing the "she's so advanced for a premie" or "don't expect her to be on target for milestones because she's a premie" comments

Yeah it sucks I hate it too. I typically just ignore it because all babies are different even if they were premie
