This happens to me. It's terrifying every single time. Definitely not something you get used to. The worst part is when you try to scream and your voice doesn't work...or your lips for that matter and just like you, it always happens when I sleep on my back! I've learned to TRY my hardest to never get too exhausted because it seems like that's a big trigger also.

Yes ! Definitely if your exhausted and it's like you hear yourself screaming but no one else can you try to move and it's just a terrifying feeling being stuck in your sleep and you don't know when you'll wake up I remember yelling wake up to myself and I woke up when the feeling was gone and never went back to sleep . I woke up recently on my back and cried. The old people say it's the devil on your back something like that . @being_mommy1216

It makes me feel like I'm frozen and I try to scream but my screams are muffled and nobody can hear me. It's such a creepy feeling.

@lumbeemama, omg yes . I never talked about it because I was young and I didn't think anyone would believe me but I did tell my mom then as I got older I read more about it and seen that it wasn't just me experiencing it

Yeah it definitely isn't just you. It still happens to me sometimes. A few times it has happened and my SO had to wake me up bc he said I was making a really weird sound in my sleep. Like I was screaming in a deep voice but my mouth was closed. Freaks me out to think about.
