My daughter was over 9lbs at birth, and I had that SAME worry. I finally asked her doctor if I should be considered, or take any precautions. He said, (word for word.), "she's big now, but in 6 months when she's walking, you'll be asking me if you should be concerned about why she is so thin." ... He told me to hold on to all the 12mo clothes because once she starts to walk, she will be back into that size. Wellllll, she just started crawling two weeks ago, and he was right! She was in 24mo pants, and now she's back in size 18mo. Her legs are thinner because she's mobile . Haha! I was a big baby also, but once I started walking, I was stick-skinny. I'm average now, but I wonder if my daughter is going to be similar.

Girl. My son is 5 months, he's 22 pounds. He has been having a small amount of cereal since 2 months before bed. Not to get him to sleep longer, but because he's hungry. I'm starting him on foods 2 weeks before 6 months. My doctor agreed. He has never been over fed. He turns his head away if he's full and has been eating 8 oz. every 3 hours since 2 months. Feed your baby when hungry. As long as their not projectile vomiting after feedings, they're most likely not over fed. My son was 7.5 at birth. So he's tripled his weight by 6 months. It's "double the weight by 1 year." He's extremely healthy, weighing more than a one year old and his pediatrician has no concerns. Babies are ready before 6 months for food, often times. Every baby differs. My only concern is the juice. Because of the sugars. I have a pretty good feeding schedule I've made. He's never hungry. Message me and I'll send you a picture! DONT GOOGLE. And don't stress. He's a baby, not an overweight child. A 7 year old weighing 100+ pounds, then you should be concerned. Feed the babe. Everyone loves a chunky baby ;)

no I don't think so. my baby was always chunky...6.13 at birth but was double that in just a few months. anyways her pediatrician has never been concerned because if your baby is hungry you feed them. eventually they don't grow as fast and will slim out because they are moving and playing so much. when my daughter started solids we always offered a bottle first because they still need nutrition to grow. now at almost a year she's mostly on table food except a bottle at bed time. her weight gain has slowed down so much now lol.

My 3 months girl is 16 lbs 7 oz!! I feel like as long as she is happy, content, and healthy then a little more rolls can't hurt!

That's not true all my boys were all over 9lbs at birth they were chubby babies but they grew out of it my kids are all skinny and tall like there daddy

Your fine they are chubby then they learn to walk and that helps them not be as chubby

my children's doctor said that no baby can be considered Over Weight because baby's are constantly eating to keep up with their growth, so now its okay for them to be chubby, and heavy because once they're toddlers their growth starts to slow down, and that's when the doctor can consider them over weight or not. And my oldest was born 9pounds and now he's 4 and looks super skinny but his weight and height are perfect.
