@britt16, yeah that makes sense. @wafiyahd no that was my choice based on how sick to my stomach I got when I tried to dye my hair a few months ago, even though I vented the room really well.

Actually you need to perm it first. Perming it after you dye it can mess up the color, due to the chemicals reacting.

@mercyoftea, perm after dye made my hair fall out In chunks bc rhe chemicals from the perm clashed with the chemicals from the dye that was left on my hair. I would definitely perm first!

I had been growing my hair out for a year and a half, to get it a good length before perming and I had dyed my hair, maybe 3 weeks before and once we got the perm solution out my hair was literally just falling out. I had to have it cut into a pixie cut, all my hair was gone and I had this short little fro.

I used to perm my hair about 2 years ago & my hairstylist would always perm my hair first & then dyed it. If you do it the opposite your hair will begin to fall & get damaged

yea I agree with @almanicolee my step mom did it the other way and didn't wait hardly at all between (which didn't help either) and her hair was terribly damaged after that
