Came home, grabbed my WIC envelope, put away my groceries, and now I'm back off to the store. Except I'm going to Publix this time, where, as a former employee, I know I'll get treated like a human being. I'll probably just go here from now on instead of Kroger honestly. it costs a little extra but it's worth it to be treated with respect (and get free samples). I had my cry, I wiped my tears, and I'm over it. Just bc you May not need help doesn't mean those of us who do are beneath you.

I'm so sorry you were treated like that. I'm a cashier at a local Kroger, and I would never, ever make someone feel so low because they had to use WIC. I always try to help my customers if any issues arise. Others that try to make you feel low have issues they need to resolve within themselves. Screw em 💪🏼

I work at Teals...the majority of customers have at least some type of government assistance (WIC, EBT, Church Food Vouchers). I use WIC myself because without it I have little to no nutritional food in the house. I only go to Teals for my WIC...went to Walmart with it before and was told (by the cashier who's line I went through) they would not serve me. When I asked why not I just got a glare as a response. She called me a "lazy girl" who only had a child to get free food. I work Monday - Friday 8-3 every week. I'm not lazy. And I didn't have my daughter as a ticket to free food...Everytime I go to Teals I'm treated with respect, get friendly conversations started with me...I'm not looked as unequal or inferior to the rest of them.

I'm sorry you had to deal with that from people :( It's never something that should be done or something you have to deal with
