I got told I have it too last week, nothing to worry about too much, you can usually fix it by changing your diet and if not they'll give you insulin. They give you a blood glucose monitoring kit to watch you glucose levels too so just be sure to start eating healthy and cut back on carbs as much as possible. No worries for Bub either, could just mean the baby might be born bigger and that could cause problems with birth. But they'll monitor bubs glucose levels when they're born anyway ☺️ hope I've helped xx

I'm surprised they didn't tell you much about it but it always helps to research online! And yeah a small prick 4 times a day, it's really not that bad but I'm doing really well except when my blood sugars get low because then I start to feel sick but that's easily fixed also the eating healthy can be pretty tough at times hahaha. They might monitor you extra closely because you have vasa previa on top of the diabetes but I'm sure you'll find out more from your midwife 😊

@bub2015, you and your baby will be fine. I have it I was border line. To be honest you just need to eat healthy (as all pregnant women should and exercise). You you need to test your sugars 4 times a day. 1 in morning before you have food (should be below 5) and 3 times after breakfast lunch and dinner (2 hours after the meals -shoukd be under 6.7) Each meal you should have 3 carb intake. Lunch and dinner you should have protein and half your plate veggies. 3 snacks a day and they should be one serving of carbs. If you still get hungry then you can have veggies or low GI. You should get an information session soon, to explaib more and they will give you a glucose metre if you have medicare. You will also get to see a dietitian for free ! If you have any questions message me if you'd like and I can try to answer :) Don't worry, has nothing to do with what you did, your placenta just can't break down glucose !

Not to worry Hun, Its definitely a common cause in pregnancy. But yes its difficult to figure out what diet or what to eat when you have type 2 diabetes. You may feel like all your favorite foods are off limits, and all you'll be able to eat is rabbit food. Although you may have to change your usual diet somewhat, there are many more options open to you than you might think. Eating more vegetables and fruits, more whole grains and less processed, simple carbohydrates, can help you keep your blood glucose levels under control. Lots of exercise too 😉😉
