I haven't smoked marijuana throughout my pregnancy because it made me too paranoid before I even was pregnant, but my friend is a smoker. (No judgments!) she has been asking everyone, and doesn't use this app so I figured I'd post on here for her behalf.. How many of you mommas were drug tested after birth? Either the baby or yourself. Just something I'm trying to get her to realize.

I know a lot of the doctor offices do it at your appointments when they have you pee. And if it continues to show up then cps shows up when you give birth.

not sure how it is where you live but where I am, they test you at every prenatal appointment and if they find anything, they don't say anything (unless it's like, meth) but they do test the baby at birth and if the baby tests positive then CPS is brought in to handle the situation. my sister in law smoked up until a month before she delivered and her son was tested and they found nothing.

@luca_santinos_mama, I know a lot of women who smoke pot while pregnant do it to help with morning sickness and appetite.

I don't believe they inform you. I believe it's more like a standard procedure. If your going to have a child you shouldn't be doing drugs. End of story lol

We live in Rhode Island, I haven't heard of anyone being tested @ doctors appointments unless theirs prior drug abuse or a reason to @inked.mermaid just curious!

Some doctors offices do it at every appointment when you pee in a cup. They don't have to tell you they're doing it. Some make you sign a paper saying they'll stop treating you if you're ever positive.

They test it when they test for your iron levels and whatnot. But everywhere I have read had said that they dont have to inform you, it is a standard practice.

All hospitals test after birth, at least they test the baby but they don't have to tell you they are testing she needs to stop ASAP or cps will get involved and could potentially take her baby away

They don't tell you when the baby gets tested ... When you give birth your baby is getting pulled out the room a lot for check ups and blood work ... She needs to stop Asap ..
