So confused on what to do...long post ahead but need some advice!!! My sister is 5 years older than me (27) she is married for almost 2 years and they have been wanting a baby since before they even got married, but she has trouble cause of a certain health issue. I on the other hand got pregnant with out really trying with my boy friend of 2 years. She didn't talk to me after she found out for about a month but now she's helping plan and pick out things. She helped us decide on the car seat we got (color, brand , and the stroller that goes with it) but now I'm hearing through my parents that she is upset that I got the exact car seat (color and brand) as she wants when she has a baby. I asked her which she would be okay with me getting and she said it was alright, now that it is unpacked and in my daughters room she has a problem with it. I feel bad but idk how to handle the situation. Do I have to return the seat?!

It's your baby there for your rules yes she is family and you feel bad , but then again how are you going to feel when you have your baby with you and not have what you wanted for your baby....the only thing that matters in this world honestly RIGHT NOW are you and your hubby and baby...THATS IT....emotionally ofcourse u think about others but your fam comes first

Unfortunately, your sister is giving signals. it's not fair for you to carry the burden of her not being able to have children easily. You should talk to her and let her know you care, but you can't walk on eggshells because of how she might feel. tell her to be honest with you.

My dad thinks we should return the seat and get another color but I am stressed enough at this point and I thought we had crossed the car seat bridge...I will be the insensitive one if I don't make it her way....I feel so bad but it's so hard to feel bad when I'm really happy and excited for my little girl.

She is just emotional bc she spent have a baby yet by the time she does get one 20k other car seat will have came out and the one u got will be discontinued. I would express to her that styles of everything and colors change constantly and later in a year when ur pregnant sis they will probably have something way cooler than the seat o just bought the time will happen when it's right and leave it alone after that.

You shouldn't really take anything back. I feel bad because she is having trouble having kids. My sister was in a similar situation but she managed to get pregnant. So we are both pregnant her with a boy and me a girl but I got pregnant way easier than she did. But you shouldn't take it back partly because of what @txyogagirl said and partly because she did tell you it was okay. She shouldn't have told you it was okay if she wasn't okay with it. You aren't to blame.

she helped you pick out colors , brand ,etc.. now she is made because you have it? she basically gave you the idea ..but okay. im sorry that she is havng a rough time.. but whos to say she will.even have a girl first.. she might have a boy. you guys are sisters , she shouldnt be envious of you over a pregnancy
