What's everyone's opinion on cot bumpers? My mother in law is telling me to never use one because they are dangerous!
So many rules! I want the cot to look nice and cosy for my daughter but I wouldn't want to risk harming her! I think they need to bring out a rule book on do's and dont's haha @winterbaby95 xx
Mm @briony1994 is right :) There are so many rules! I personally wouldn't use them. The baby can't roll at birth anyway so no need for them until they start rolling and moving all over the place. Some peoples issue with them is if a baby rolls against the side of the cot and presses their face against it..they can suffocate themselves...especially I'd they do it when sleeping or haven't mastered rolling yet. Also there was a case where a baby got strangled by the strings. I co-sleep..something that midwives advise against. But I find co-sleeping works best for my daughter and myself since I am breast feeding :) xx
I read up about them and I wouldn't do it. also in Holland (where I am from) they are not even allowed. it is not proven that they are beneficial but it is proven that they can come undone and suffocate the baby
I wouldn't do it. xx
I don't get what's wrong with bumpers, there's so many rules it all confuses me lol!xx
don't do it honestly if you have Facebook look up justice for Preston xx
we have one on phoebes cot and it's perfectly fine. it just makes the sidea of the cot softer inside so of they do roll etc they won't bash they head etc as hard. I think they male the cot look more comfy as well
My midwife told me they're trying to get them banned because in the last few years over 40 babies have died and that's been because of bumpers x
