labor story incoming

woke up yesterday and immediately started having irregular contractions. as the day progressed, they got stronger and stronger. hubby got home at about 1-1:30 in the afternoon. made himself lunch at about 2:30, about that time, contractions were so frequent and painful that I was crying. he finished his lunch and wanted to take a nap but contractions were coming every 3-6 minutes so I told him it'd probably be best to come in. got to the hospital and put on the monitor. I was having two contractions right on top of each other and then nothing and then two more and so on. made it to 4cm and 100% and they finally admitted me and gave me an epidural. after that, it was smooth sailing. got very little pitocin after staying at 5cm for a few hours. but dilated from there mostly on my own. once I hit 10cm, my nurse wanted me to push a little bit to get her to move down because she was staying at 0. pushed until we got her to crown. then the other doctors and nurses came in and got the bed and everything ready for birth. hubby and my nurse grabbed my legs and hips to move down to the stirrups and with how I moved my upper body, baby girls head popped right out. got in position to push, pushed over and her shoulders came out. All together labor was about 10 hours and pushing took about 20 minutes. it was an easy delivery. not so easy recovery but I'm getting there lol she latches very well and she's got a strong suck. she eats a lot and sleeps a lot but when she's awake, she's AWAKE. I love this sweet little girl with every fiber of my being.
