So I'm wondering I got steroid shots for my baby's lungs development in case he is to come early…

It would be really hard to predict that Hun. I've read about the shots for lungs and it seems to be different for each baby how effective those shots are. For now, try not to borrow trouble. Can't change what will happen and I'm not sure there's much prepping you can do for either outcome. Praying you have NO stay in NICU though <3

It all depends on baby. I've had a 34 weeker with steroids who spent 9 days in the nicu learning to eat. Then I had a 35 weeker without steroids who spent 24 days in the nicu with breathing and eating issues. I just had my last baby at 34 weeks who is now 8 days old and I had 2 different rounds of steroids(4 shots) and he needed help breath in for 3 days and is still in nicu learning to eat. But I've known people who have brought home 34 and 35 weekers with and without steroids. Good Luck!

it definitely depends on the baby. I had a 32 weeker after I had got those steroid shots and she stayed on oxygen for only 24 hours but had to stay in the hospital for 6 weeks due to other issues.

i had a 33 weeker that i got the shots for and he did great with breathing and had to stay in the nici for two weeks but i had a 32 weeker i got the shots but she had to be on oxygen for 24 hours and stayed in the nicu for 2 weeks also it all depends on thr baby i hope and pray you wont have your baby early

I've had 31 weekers ( twins) one had issue with bradycardia and apnea came home on a breathing monitors 10 days later and her brother was just fine came home three days later cause he had jaundice. I've have 33 weekers (twins) no problems came home with me. And a 35 weeker no problems. So yes it just depends.
