know what's so annoying? when someone has the nerve to speak ill on a family on food stamps.. like, shut up.. yeah sometimes people make bad choices that weren't the best for their future but they're putting their pride aside for their family so their kids can eat.. so they can pay the bills and sleep knowing they were able to skid by this month thanks to food stamps..
I understand there are some people who use it to their advantage.. you can't worry about them bc the people I know on food stamps.. are families who don't waste it on junk food.. they're packing their cart with meats for weeks, healthy drinks, abundant snack items, and recipes that will last them the week so they can save on the food stamp card bc they don't feel they necessarily need $400 for food that month and it goes back to the government..
and fyi: less than 5% of your money goes to DHS for 2015 to 2016 so far.
everyone has hard times and no one should feel ashamed for accepting help that's offered..

food stamps are for people who need them. BUT I will talk shit about a family if they can afford cigs beer and drugs but not food. if you can afford those things you can afford food.

@jessicahartze yeah.. the dodges store now accepts food stamps and you can get cash back from a transaction and I always see people getting lottery tickets or smokes.. makes me sad.. they have ebt stamps on all their candy and ice cream... they're not even stocked with legit food

the other night I was using my wic to get my baby her formula and the register messed up reading my card and we had to redo the whole trancaction and this dude said loudly "omg if u can't pay for it leave it " so I squared up to him and told him that there were other lines that he could go to and if he took the minute to look up and see that she turned off her light u would of saw that there was a problem and he just walked away and I returned back to waiting

@brudd330, some people are so rude. Yes wic is a pain in the ass and sometimes complicated but it's not our fault. Our babies need fed and formula isn't cheap. Especially being $15-$20 a can. I'm on food stamps but I also have rent, utilities, and gas to put in my car. I work as much as my job will let me. That little bit of help makes a lot of difference. Especially since my daughter isn't a fan of eating baby food.

I literally just had to get on food stamps. I felt bad about it and as unfortunate as it is to admit it I really do need it right now. I was put on bed rest very early in pregnancy and have not been allowed to work. it definitely took a toll. I would never judge someone for being on WIC or food stamps especially because now I understand. But I agree with previous poster, if you can afford cigs beer and drugs but are on food stamps then you have messed up priorities
