i got a question... on ultrasounds what is the gestational age.. Is it what the baby is measuring or…

Lmp is the guessing based on last missed period. And through ultrasound they guess due date by how baby is measuring

@liz41395 I know what Lmp is I'm asking what that GA is if it's based off that or if the number is what baby is measuribg right then.

On ultrasounds its what the baby is measuring its usually a little off of what the doc told you because they don't consider you pregnant the first 2 weeks of your pregnancy

@hermommy, the machine calculates it i was freaked out at first because i thought my daughter wasn't growing like she was supposed to but my doc reassured me that she is right on track and explained it all to me😊

@haydensmommy16 thank you😄 I always wondered how my old OBs machine was late 2 weeks but labor and delivery was right on track if not she was measuring a tad big. L&D told me possibly bc of genetics she would be small and not to let any doctor freak me out but at 16weeks she weighed 5oz😮

Sometimes even the machine can be of since they do go off of how long the baby is. The baby can be curled up or even balled up and the doctor freak out. When I was 32 weeks they measured me and I wasn't measuring at 32 weeks I think I was two weeks behind but I think it was the way the baby balled up with they ended up freakin me out and sending me to get an ultrasound everything was fine

they measure head circumference and body length. exactly like @reaganmommy2015 said! and the computer automatically comes up with the numbers.

@reaganmommy2015 yeah labor and delivery got the most accurate ultrasound and measurements B was asleep and completely stretched out so they let me know at 16 weeks she was measuring a small 18 weeks child which is what I should've been. They had one of their doctors explain to me that with mine and her daddy's genetics they don't expect her to get big at all 6 lbs tops but also laughed said anything could happen. Wish I could use that doctor he seemed to care and explain more to me

@nichole_lynn gotcha ^^ so l&d would've been right? bc my old OB B was all over the place and had her arms grabbing her legs and at one point she balled up

the earlier measurement are usually a lot better for guessing age. Example Zada is measuring really long now, 3 weeks ahead but there is no way they would move her due date up because then her lungs wouldn't be ready even though her legs are lol. @hermommy

I hear ya. In the end, babies can't read calanders so she will come when she wants. 😂😂😂. And she's a girl sooooo.... Oh and she's YOUR girl 😂😂😉😂😂😂😂 @hermommy
