I don't mean to be insensitive...but that's part of being a military spouse. It sucks, it really does. My ex husband missed the first year and a half of our sons life. He missed the birth, and was gone the first 6 months for BCT/AIT, we got stationed at Ft.Riley, Kansas (14 hour drive from my home town of Memphis, TN), we moved, and he deployed less than 4 weeks later to Iraq for a year. Depending on how long the deployment is, you should maybe consider moving back home with family if it's an option. If not, there are a lot of options to help make you feel less lonely. A lot of posts have fb support groups, his unit should have an FRG. You don't have to be alone.

He doesnt have to go is the thing. His job does not require him over seas. He wants to go over, but I feel like he should have done this before the baby.

I believe my mom will come stay with me until he is back. If he does leave, it will be for a year.

Whether he has a combat MOS or not, a lot of soldiers volunteer for deployment. it's a good option to save up money and sometimes it means something more to them. he should have talked to you about it, but if he has a good reasoning behind it, you should also be supportive. the military isn't just some day job.
