Does anyone know what Streptococcus agalactiae is?

It's the group B strep . Did the doctor test you for it

It's a bacteria that can be transferred from mom to baby - it's harmless to the mom but it's dangerous for the baby so they monitor it and give the mom medication during labor so it won't affect the baby

If you have it they will give antibiotics before delivery so baby doesn't get it! It's Just an infection @briannabdb

Yeah I looked it up and couldn't really figure out what causes it! It says it can cause stillbirth @mrsmord

@briannabdb, what she said^^ it's just a bacteria. And it is very common! It happens to heathy pregnancies. I think with all your hormones it's just something that can happen.

Oh not! Not at all. It's nothing you can prevent. Doctor will just give you antibiotics so you don't pass it to baby, if you even have it. But no ma'am, don't worry at all! @briannabdb
