hot compresses will help soften it up to drain and with the pain.

do not let them cut!!! worse decision of my mom's life. she's had 2 major surgeries since then because of them cutting. I get them all the time. soak in hot water and if you can do that compress to draw it to a head. it'll drain on it own. but please don't let them cut you.

Try some sitz baths and dermaplast.

I used to get them. Take a hot bath and lay in the water as hot as you can take it

I agree with everyone else heat will help! if you can't lay in the bath put super hot water on a wash cloth and hold it on there. when I was pregnant with my son I got mrsa on my inner thigh and they cut it open hoping to drain it but it hadn't liquified completely so they dug it out and stuffed it with guaze that they changed every few days. it hurt but not as bad as having a giant throbbing sore!!

@jaeparm, my dad had mrsa in the back of his head, i had to repack and pack it every day .

I have a giant cyst in that area as well. I've been soaking in Epson salt baths a lot and it has been helping

@hishappymommy, sometimes a few hours sometimes days. it depends on where it is. it's like a pimple of you pop it it's not going to get everything out and it'll leave a scar..
