why does it seem people you don't know tend to give you better advice then your best friend that has done been through a pregnancy...I been thinking about taking the week off before her due date because wear I work I may have to drive my client some wear like doctor appointments and to do the shopping or taking the dog to the vet or groomers and what if during that week my client has a doctors appointment that's not wear they live and during the appointment I end up going into labor how do I get the client home without it being patient abandonment. I talk to my best friend about it and she's just like well the percent of women that actually go into labor on there own is low then said but its up to you what u do....I just feel like she thinks I just worrying about nothing or that I just wanting to be lazy and not do nothing because I pregnant just because she worked up till the day she went in to be induced

If I were in your position I would take the time off, just because it's may be a low percentage (actually I think it's about an average number of women honestly) doesn't mean it won't happen.... sometimes friends just don't want to discuss things unless they are going thru it themselves

thanks I only just started thinking about it...I had every intention of working up till her due date but it seems that the closer it gets to her due date my client has decided they want to go more which wears me out....i know its a low chance of me going into labor early but even my mom seems to think that Kat is going to be late because I was 2 weeks late she went to George to see my step brother because her husband went and my thing is what if I did go into labor and she's the one supposed to be going in the delivery room with me.....I been really emotional this week and little things have been upsetting me and all.....I been having back pains and going between constipation to having diarrhea and some BH so I know I may be overacting some but I can't help how I feel

@april0416, everyone and every pregnancy is different. just because it's your first doesn't mean you cant go into labor on your own or even early. your friend should know that, but i understand my sister is being the same way. i would take the time off! i know i wont be Working much longer but intend to work as long as possible. i too wanted to work until my due date but i am in a lot of pain right now, more than i thought i would be, and it's better to be safe and do what you feel is right. only you know what will be best, go with your gut instinct.

@babybird080316, there are days I wonder if I will at times my back and lower front start hurting but I can get up walk around and they go away but it seems like I get those pains more and more every day. there has been some mornings it hurts to lean up when getting out of bed. with me having 5 weeks till her due date I don't want to take any chances up till last month I had been seeing a specialist but he says everything looks good so I don't have to see him no more and simple things like squating down to sweep the trash in the dust pan has gotten to be a chore its hard for me to get back up..thank you @temp

Oh okay well if u feel like don't want to take chance then u take your week off the company and your patient will understand pretty soon u not gonna be with your patient at all so better safe than sorry

I think its silly to stress over that one week. You can get final touches on your house done and ready for baby, and prepare yourself for labor. And if it is your first baby most women go into labor BEFORE their due date. Because I work part time I ended up going out at 33 weeks instead. Which is WAY too early, but still I've gotten so much done in that time. In the end do what you think is best. :)
