Ok so i need some advice and you guys are the best at giving it so here i am. Its kind of a long post 😊. I have a 7 yr old daughter from a previous relationship. My boyfriend has 2 daughters from previous relationships, 6 and 9. We are expecting a baby boy together in July. Whenever my family does something for my daughter, whether it's babysit, take her to church, give lunch money, Christmas gifts, whatever, they always include his. But when his family does things for his daughters, they don't include my daughter. I guess technically they don't "have" to because my daughter isn't their blood relative. But i was raised differently. I was raised knowing that you should always treat all the children in the household the same because its fair, it limits feelings getting hurt and sibling rivalry. And its just freakin polite. But they don't do the same and it really irritates me because then i have to deal with my daughters feelings getting hurt and she feels like she doesn't matter to them. I deal with it because i don't expect them to behave within the same rules of etiquette as I was taught. But i have decided that once my son comes i will not stand for it anymore. There will be no coming to get him and not my daughter or buying him gifts and not her because they are siblings that came from me and will not be treated differently. Its both or neither. What are your opinions? Sorry again for the long post and thanx in advance for your time ❤️. Have a nice day

@desiree, I definitely agree with you! And feel that would be the right thing to do. Does your SO say anything?

No he doesn't. And that pisses me off. He just lets it happen. And im left to console my daughter alone everytime. He was raised differently. Probably thinks i baby my daughter. But idc. Im not about to have ppl treat her differently like she dont count. @whitneym

I was raised the same the way...you're right about them not being required to do for your daughter, but at the end of the day she is an innocent child that should be treated the same! I agree with you about not allowing them to make a difference between your children! I would do the same!

@desiree, you should definitely talk to him. But I would do the same thing, if they ask to do something with your son say do you mind talking her too and if they say no just say no thank you I think I'll just take them together another time. They will eventually get the hint.

@luvmyboldens, @mommyof10627 @whitneym thank God im not alone in this. He makes me feel like i baby my daughter and extra sensitive when it comes to her. But im not about to have ppl mess with my babies self esteem making her feel like she doesn't matter or isnt as good as other kids. That starts early.

I agree with you. if yall are in a realtionship ... then the kids are both of yours ... thats what blended families are. not dividing out who's kid is whos. they're all "siblings" if yall are planning on being together.
