I seriously can't even believe some people. You are getting great service..at a sit down restaurant and your server is seven months pregnant and you're still a cheap bastard! ugh. Made $60 in four hours..on a Saturday night..What a waste of my time.
blame it on the business you work for. this is the only reason you are not paid normal wages, they want to be cheap. When we tip, we are essentially buying the right to avoid disapproval and guilt -- a uniquely first-world problem. we are the only country that tips. it would be awesome if you got paid what you were worth.
That would be nice @machelle137 if I get stiffed..no tip I'm literally paying for you to eat there. because of taxes..people don't get it. Thank god I passed my real estate exam. Won't be waitressing for much longer!
it's actually a symbiotic relationship between business, consumer, and server if you break down the individual cost of everything vs what it would cost to dine out if business paid full wages . It sucks most days, but I don't know what industry I could work in with only a highschool diploma making $15 an hour minimally, but generally upwards of $20-$25.
well, I know of another industry but I don't think I could do it 😂😂 The work sucks, that I can say. but people who aren't in the industry don't realize that if they upped the cost of our labor, the product would be more expensive. Hence why things are cheaper from China than domestically. Alot of people don't realize we also tip out a minimum of 2% of total sales, regardless of if they tip or not.

Yep..have to tip out and pay taxes..doesn't matter if we do get tipped or not.
