Beyond aggravated with these damn doctor offices. first my doctor tells me after I've already scheduled an appointment that they no longer accept my insurance so I need to find a new doctor. So I find a new doctor, and everything is fine, got my appointment scheduled for March 8th, and after almost three weeks waiting for this appointment, had all my paper work ready like they asked and what do they do today, call me and tell me I need to contact my insurance to get permission first. Its freaking FRIDAY! Nobody is going to be in office this weekend! and I won't be able to get it in time for my appointment Tuesday. I'm going to be 11weeks and still haven't gotten any prenatal care, tf is wrong with these doctors making shit so freaking difficult!

i would just call your insurance and ask which places accept the insurance bc they should have a list for your area

@marie15, my first doctor was accepting my insurance until they got a letter saying they didn't after my appointment, which is understandable because all the hospitals are changing the insurance they accept. but this doctor does accept my insurance and was confirmed, and they said all I needed was a referral from my primary doctor and my medical records, which I got.

@jana.bear, it isn't the whole insurance part I'm mad about, its why didn't the doctor office give me this information in the beginning and not last minute when I can't even go to my appointment, why make me go running around to get all this paper work for nothing.

its their job to call not yours. well at least that's how it works here my doctor always calls my insurance if they need anything the only thing I had to call for was an insurance card for kaine because I never got it in the mail but that was it

that sounds weird i wouldnt waste my time there bc then you know they might get things wrong bc that makes no sense why you have to get a referral bc youre trying to get a new doctor

@marie15, they said I need a referral because my primary doctor isn't from that hospital. which is fine, and usually to go to a different hospital than what my primary doctor is from I need a referral. @aek91 that's what I'm saying. never once have I ever had to call insurance to get permission to go to a doctor. first they told me only my medical records and a referral from my primary doctor and now they're telling me that the referral won't won't because I need permission from my insurance

if they accept the insurance I don't see why you need permission! that's really stupid you're better off finding a different doctor

@aek91, I know! I can't tho because since I'm in Berwyn I was going to go with MacNeal where I had Sammy since its only 5mins away but they just told me they no longer take my insurance so the closest hospital is Loyola which is 10/15minutes. and I don't want to go to any in Chicago since I had Vincent at St Anthony's on 19th and they were horrible. lol and knowing how fast I go into LA or and have my kids I need a hospital really close.
