Is it normal to shake and cry for no reason all the time after having a baby? I can't control the crying, feeling hopeless and helpless, and outbursts of shaking. I was just discharged from the hospital today.

baby blues, it's completely normal.... of it becomes worse or to the point you are having serious bouts of depression let your Dr know

Aww it will be ok. Most moms go through that stage after childbirth

did you have a c section? epidural? anesthetics can cause shaking. And the crying is normal... your body is experiencing a crazy shift in hormones right now. I cried every day for the first 10 days. It's most likely too soon for it to be postpartum... if you still feel super weepy after about 2 weeks, then it's most likely not related to hormones and you should talk to your dr.

I had an emergency c section after a failed induction. And yeah I can't control the crying, like at all. @levleah

@rylansmomma, did they put you under general anesthesia (did they put you to sleep?)? Most likely that's what's causing the shaking. And I couldn't control the crying, either... but I promise it's normal! If you start having any irrational thoughts such as harming yourself or baby, then that's when it's more than just hormones. Don't be afraid to call your dr if you're worried about the crying. Pregnancy and childbirth wreaks havoc on your hormones and sometimes you need more than just time to get back to normal (such as antidepressants). I'm a clinical researcher and have experience in psychiatric research... and I take antidepressants myself since having my daughter. If you need to talk, feel free to message me!

@rylansmomma, I was the same way! And epidurals and spinal blocks can also cause the shakes. Hope you feel better soon.
