What age do you ladies think is a good age to have a kid doing chores like vacuuming, washing dishes, etc. My mom started us really young so im not sure whats the proper age. My triplet siblings are 7, theyll be 8 in september. Im keeping them in the summer while my mom works and definitely want to give them some responsibilities since Ill have a newborn.

8 is a good age I have my son do unloading the dish washer, taking out trash, putting dirty clothes in the garage

I think that's a good age for helping with small chores, dishes or taking out the trash... maybe some light vacuuming.... if they offer to do more then I say let them

ok thanks ladies, because i think its time they start doing some cleaning! I was no joke cooking on the stove at 6 (which is too young) lol but i was always so independent and mature. & with my newborn, theyre gonna have to learn to do things for themselves. @reaganmommy2015 @sarahdrew @nharri22

exactly.... let them make themselves a pb&j or a ham sandwich.... my husband was cooking grilled cheeses at 6, of course he was the youngest of 8 and his next oldest sibling was 11 years older than him

my 2 year old has chores.. hahaha He loves it. I have him pick up his toys and wipe off the coffee table. (we do not use chemicals)

yepp thats what i plan on doing! They know how to do stuff but they have to be closely monitored because otherwise it probably wont be done right lol @sarahdrew. @showersoverflowers

I let him do it his best and praise him like crazy then as soon as he turns around I do it again 😉 when he gets older I'll correct him

Thats good to teach him at a young age! That way he will be used to doing it when he gets older @showersoverflowers. Im definitely gonna teach my baby the same thing, my mom raised us pretty strict so i learned responsibility at a young age !

oh yeah! I remember dusting as early as 3 and vacuuming and dishes at 5 by the time I hit 7 I was cleaning the bathroom, scrubbing floors, and collecting eggs. I won't be as hard core as she was but I do want my kids to know the value of responsibility
