Sleep however you want, except on your stomach obviously. Sleeping in your back really isn't even that bad, unless it it physically uncomfortable. You can sleep however you feel comfortable! I switch from left side to right side every hour when I wake up, but a lot of the time I sleep like almost all the way on my back. It is more comfy sometimes. No harm
I was told by 3 different drs that sleeping on your back is more than okay. & even sleeping on your stomach is okay. When it stops being okay is when your child tells you. & they will let you know "hey switch positions" when it stops being comfortable for your baby it'll be even less comfortable for you.
Thank you so much ladies. My back is actually most comfortable. Laying on my sides seems to create heartburn too. @candacelouise @babymay2016 @mommyrai
Yes! I completely agree with them! @babymay2016 @mommyrai my doctor said the same thing. Baby will def tell you hey, I'm not comfy, you're squishing me! Lol if it is hurting them... He/she will make sure to hurt you or start making you feel sick. @amira93
Yes it does seem to make the heartburn worse doesn't it! I thought it was just me! My doctor also told me it is 100% okay to sleep however I am comfortable. Sometimes laying on my back makes me feel nauseous, and sometimes when I'm on my right side my baby just is not having it and he either kicks me or makes it reallllly hard to even do that. I flip right over and he is fine again ☺ I'm kinda at the point nothing is comfortable now LOL so get all the comfortable rest you can, in whatever position you can .
I sleep slightly on my side then I have a pillow underneath my stomach as protection but since I'm getting so big my daughter is not letting mommy sleep like that so now it my back or either one of my sides

We have a mom in our class who wakes up in her stomach & was terrified. The doctor told her she is perfectly fine.

My sides hurt when I lay on them my back is great. Have you tried a body pillow to ? Later on if the back hurts you could use the pillow for support
